How Tom Brady went from a bench player coming into the league, and how he became a starting quarterback on a team that really wasn’t really that good starting out, and how Tom Brady’s playing catapulted the patriots to a winning dynasty. Also documenting how he also became a 7-time super bowl winning quarterback winning a Superbowl on each winning team he has played for.
Twenty-two years ago, the world got introduced to Tom Brady in earnest. Then just 24 years old and the sixth round pick out of Michigan, it didn’t take long for Brady to get thrust into the thround of the 2000 NFL Draft and appeared in just one game during the 2000 season. Three games into the following season, a very green and inexperienced Brady was called upon to start after the then-patriot’s starter Drew Bledsoe got knocked out of the week 2 contest against the Jets in a hit from Mo Lewis. From there it was Brady’s team and Brady’s job to lose, even if his first on paper didn’t make it appear that way. The Patriots routed the colts 44-13 in Foxborough on September 30th. 2001. He had impressive showings; Brady was pedestrian. He went just for 13 for 23 with only 168 yards and was sacked once.

Brady Only tossed one touchdown pass, taking a page from the Super Bowl XXXVIII Playbook, and connecting with Vrabel for a 2-yard score. With Freddie Mitchell and Terrell Owens on the opposite sideline, there was plenty of talking heading into this matchup. It was Brady, Though, who had the last laugh and a perfect 3-0 Super Bowl record to Boot.

The Patriots Found themselves down 10 points late in the third quarter before brady tossed touchdown passes to Danny Amendola and Julian Edelman to take a 28-24 lead late in the fourth Quarter. They left too much time on the clock for Russel Wilson and the Seahawks, who nearly had their own New York Giants moment vs. the Patriots. Jermaine Kearse made a near impossible 33-yard catch with one minute left in regulation to put Seattle in a position to seal the win. Then the Seahawks decided not to use Marshawn Lynch at the one Yard Line. Instead, they attempted a slant pass to Ricardo Lockett that was picked off by rookie reserve cornerback Malcolm Butler thus giving the patriots the victory. Butler’s play is considered one of the greatest plays in NFL History. Tom Brady’s Final Stats 37/50, 328 yards, 4 TD, 2 INT, 10.1 Rating.

Brady’s sixth super Bowl Win was pretty much the opposite of his Superbowl LII loss to the Eagles. He and the rest of the patriot’s offense really couldn’t get much of anything going, and it was New England’s defense stepping up to keep Sean Mcvays explosive rams’ offense quiet. This marked the only super bowl in which Brady failed to throw a touchdown pass. Nonetheless, he became the first player in NFL history to win six Superbowl’s, overtaking Charles Haley’s sole record of five. At 41-years old, he became the oldest QB to win a Superbowl.
