A Future Hall of Famers Playing Career

By Brandan Buckner October 12, 2022

Documenting the career of Tom Brady’s Playing career. How Tom Brady went from a bench player coming into the league, and how he became a starting quarterback on a team that really wasn’t really that good starting out, and how Tom Brady’s playing catapulted the patriots to a winning dynasty. Also documenting how he also became a 7-time super bowl winning quarterback winning a Superbowl on each winning team he has played for.

Twenty-two years ago, the world got introduced to Tom Brady in earnest. Then just 24 years old and the sixth round pick out of Michigan, it didn’t take long for Brady to get thrust into the thround of the 2000 NFL Draft and appeared in just one game during the 2000 season. Three games into the following season, a very green and inexperienced Brady was called upon to start after the then-patriot’s starter Drew Bledsoe got knocked out of the week 2 contest against the Jets in a hit from Mo Lewis. From there it was Brady’s team and Brady’s job to lose, even if his first on paper didn’t make it appear that way. The Patriots routed the colts 44-13 in Foxborough on September 30th. 2001. He had impressive showings; Brady was pedestrian. He went just for 13 for 23 with only 168 yards and was sacked once. Tom-Brady-First-Start-09282021

Tom Brady’s First Superbowl appearance came against the Greatest Show on Turf. Helped by a defense ranked sixth in the NFL in scoring, Brady secured the patriots first-ever Superbowl title. Brady’s lone to touchdown pass was an eight-yarder to wide receiver David Patten in the second quarter. The rest of the New England’s scoring came from a pick six by cornerback Ty Law and field goals from Adam Vinterra, who drilled the 48-yard game-winner as time expired. Brady’s final 16/27, 145 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT, 86.2 Rating.

Brady’s Second Superbowl was just as exciting as the first. This time, it was thrilling victory over the Carolina Panthers. A record setting 37 points were scored in the fourth quarter between the two teams. Brady tallied three touchdown passes, the most notable one being a 1-yard loss to es-pats linebacker and current Tennessee Titans Head Coach Mike Vrabel in the fourth quarter. Tom Brady’s final line, Brady’s stats: 32/48, 354 yards 3 TD, 1, INT, 100.5 Passer Rating.

Super Bowl No.3 of Brady’s Illustratious career wasn’t his best, but once again he found a way to lead his team to victory. Brady Only tossed one touchdown pass, taking a page from the Super Bowl XXXVIII Playbook, and connecting with Vrabel for a 2-yard score. With Freddie Mitchell and Terrell Owens on the opposite sideline, there was plenty of talking heading into this matchup. It was Brady, Though, who had the last laugh and a perfect 3-0 Super Bowl record to Boot.

The Patriots Found themselves down 10 points late in the third quarter before brady tossed touchdown passes to Danny Amendola and Julian Edelman to take a 28-24 lead late in the fourth Quarter. They left too much time on the clock for Russel Wilson and the Seahawks, who nearly had their own New York Giants moment vs. the Patriots. Jermaine Kearse made a near impossible 33-yard catch with one minute left in regulation to put Seattle in a position to seal the win. Then the Seahawks decided not to use Marshawn Lynch at the one Yard Line. Instead, they attempted a slant pass to Ricardo Lockett that was picked off by rookie reserve cornerback Malcolm Butler thus giving the patriots the victory. Butler’s play is considered one of the greatest plays in NFL History. Tom Brady’s Final Stats 37/50, 328 yards, 4 TD, 2 INT, 10.1 Rating.

Yet Another game that serves as a reminder Brady and the Patriots never make It easy on themselves in the Super Bowl. But it was also a reminder never to count out one of the greatest QBS who has ever lived. The patriots were down 28-3 late in the third quarter, then stormed back to send the game into overtime were running back James White finished the comeback off with a 2-yard touchdown run. Brady struggled mightily in the first half but was sensational in engineering the greatest comeback in NFL history. When looking back on the best moments of Brady’s career, this likely will be the first game that comes to mind. Brady’s final line, 43/62, 466 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT, 95.2 Rating.

Brady’s sixth super Bowl Win was pretty much the opposite of his Superbowl LII loss to the Eagles. He and the rest of the patriot’s offense really couldn’t get much of anything going, and it was New England’s defense stepping up to keep Sean Mcvays explosive rams’ offense quiet. This marked the only super bowl in which Brady failed to throw a touchdown pass. Nonetheless, he became the first player in NFL history to win six Superbowl’s, overtaking Charles Haley’s sole record of five. At 41-years old, he became the oldest QB to win a Superbowl. Brady’s final stats 21/35, 262 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT 71.3 Rating.

After winning six titles during a two-decade run in New England, the 43-year-old Brady Joined a losing Tampa Bay team and promptly led the Bucs to glory. Not that he needed much resume padding but, this case as the greatest quarterback of all time was further cemented while going 21 for 29 for 201 yards and 3 touchdowns to lead the buccaneers to their second Superbowl win and his 7th all time. Not only that Brady also won Super Bowl MVP honors.
